Medical and First Aid

At Penrice, we have a qualified First Aid Instructor who deals with emergency first aid requirements for students whilst at school.

Supporting students with medical conditions

It is important that parents feel confident that Penrice will provide effective support for their child’s medical condition and that the student feels safe. Please speak to us if you have any concerns about your child’s health.

If a student has an ‘Individual Healthcare Plan’ then parents/carers should supply a copy to our Individual Care Plan Co-ordinator. Parents/carers should also email our school nurse, providing as much information as possible, if a student suffers from any of the following:

  • Epilepsy
  • Asthma
  • Heart condition
  • Diabetes
  • Migraines
  • Joint problems
  • Bladder or bowel problems
  • Hearing impairment
  • Sight loss
  • Allergies that require an Epipen
  • Or any other significant medical condition

Administration of Medicines in School

If a student may require a prescription medicine at school, then parents/carers should complete a parental agreement form. Please contact our reception team for further information.
