Penrice Plus (Penrice+) gives our students the opportunity to take part in extra-curricular clubs and activities every week. We offer a range of activities in the categories of Arts, Wellbeing, Academic and Sports. Penrice+ runs throughout the week, primarily on Wednesdays. It offers students at Penrice Academy the opportunity to take part in activities, learn new skills and build on the skills they already have outside the classroom.

Penrice Plus - Spring Term 2026

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Penrice Plus for Spring Term 2026 - our vibrant extra-curricular programme designed to enrich student life beyond the classroom! From breaktime clubs to after-school activities, Penrice Plus offers something for everyone, giving students the chance to explore new interests, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.

Whether it's sport, music, debate, art, or something entirely new, these experiences are all about helping students become well-rounded young adults and discover their passions. Please take the time to view our clubs and activities schedule below. Some club descriptions have been provided below on this webpage where necessary.

Sign-Up Instructions

Based on feedback, we are changing the process for Penrice Plus this term. You will no longer need to sign up for clubs. All clubs (unless stated Invite only) will be drop in. Due to health and safety, Badminton club is capped at 30 students. Please register your interest for this specific club using Evolve and we will select 30 students at random for this term; the remaining students will be placed on a waiting list for next term.

All clubs will start week beginning 19th January. Please note some clubs (Sports and Performing Arts) have already begun.

We hope your child will be able to take advantage of the Penrice Plus clubs in the Spring Term. If you have any questions, please contact Ms Jade Cox, Penrice Plus Coordinator, via penriceenquiries@penrice.celtrust.org.

Penrice Plus on the farm is a great opportunity to get your wellies on and get stuck in! During our after school sessions, students learn all about animal husbandry and help with all jobs on the farm. Jobs range from handling our small animals, feeding guinea pigs and mucking out the pig pen! We are looking for resilient, hard-working students - particularly pupils who don’t mind getting muddy!

School Production - Into the Woods
Open to students from all year groups, the School Production Club is one of the most popular and exciting opportunities of the year. Whether you're a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, there's a place for everyone - on stage, behind the scenes, or helping bring the magic to life (Set and Prop Design Club also available). The production culminates in three spectacular live performances during the summer term, where students showcase their talent, teamwork, and creativity to packed audiences. It’s more than just a show - it’s a celebration of storytelling, collaboration, and unforgettable memories. For Spring Term 2026, only returning students are invited to attend as we approach the live show taking place in March 2026.
