Penrice Plus (Penrice+) gives our students the opportunity to take part in extra-curricular clubs and activities every week. We offer a range of activities in the categories of Arts, Wellbeing, Academic and Sports. Penrice+ runs throughout the week, primarily on Wednesdays. It offers students at Penrice Academy the opportunity to take part in activities, learn new skills and build on the skills they already have outside the classroom.

Penrice Plus - Summer Term 2026

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Penrice Plus for Summer Term 2026 - our vibrant extra-curricular programme designed to enrich student life beyond the classroom! From breaktime clubs to after-school activities, Penrice Plus offers something for everyone, giving students the chance to explore new interests, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.

Whether it's sport, music, debate, art, or something entirely new, these experiences are all about helping students become well-rounded young adults and discover their passions. Please take the time to view our clubs and activities schedule below. Some club descriptions have been provided below on this webpage where necessary.

Sign-Up Instructions

Based on feedback, we have changed the process for accessing Penrice Plus. You will no longer need to sign up for clubs. All clubs will be drop-in.

We hope your child will be able to take advantage of the Penrice Plus clubs in the Spring Term.

Summer Term 2026 Club Descriptions

Some club descriptions have been provided below where necessary.

Diamond Art / Mandala Mindfulness
A quiet relaxed club with Diamond Art and calming mindfulness music. Diamond art is a hobby well-suited for both novices and experienced crafters. You can channel your creativity into crafting a sparkling piece of diamond art. The process is easy to master and transforming tiny diamonds into a colourful, three-dimensional masterpiece is incredibly rewarding. Diamond Art equipment is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Farm Club
Penrice Plus on the farm is a great opportunity to get your wellies on and get stuck in! During our after school sessions, students learn all about animal husbandry and help with all jobs on the farm. Jobs range from handling our small animals, feeding guinea pigs and mucking out the pig pen! We are looking for resilient, hard-working students - particularly pupils who don’t mind getting muddy!

Penrice Library
Love books? Love reading? Join us in the library for lots of reading activities; quiet reading, discussion, making books, writing reviews, story time, author visits, reading support and more! This is an opportunity for everyone - you don't have to be the world's best reader; you just need to love reading.

Green Team
Passionate about the planet? Join Penrice’s Green Team! We work together to make our school more eco-friendly through recycling projects, sustainability campaigns, and creative ideas to protect the environment. Be part of the change!

Homework Club
Homework Club is available to all students. Students can access and use the school's computer suite whilst also being able to ask for support from a supervising teacher. A member of the SEND team is also available at every Homework Club to support students.

After-school: Mondays-Thursdays, 3-4pm. Room CS3.

LGBTQ+ Club
A safe, welcoming space for everyone. Join us to celebrate diversity, share experiences, and support each other. Allies are always welcome - come and be part of our community!

Mandarin Excellence Programme
Learning one of the world's most popular languages, spoken by over 1 billion people. Details of our school's Mandarin Excellence Programme can be found here.

Model United Nations
Step into the shoes of global leaders with the Model United Nations club, open to students in Years 9 and 10. This dynamic and engaging club offers the chance to debate real-world issues, represent different countries, and develop key skills in public speaking, diplomacy, and critical thinking. Whether you're passionate about international affairs or simply want to boost your confidence and teamwork abilities, Model United Nations is a fantastic way to explore global challenges and collaborate on creative solutions. No prior experience needed - just bring your curiosity and a willingness to speak up!

Mural Art Club
Bring your creativity to life on a grand scale with the new Mural Art Club! Open to all students, this exciting club invites you to collaborate on large-scale artwork that transforms blank walls into vibrant visual stories. Whether you're an experienced artist or just love to doodle, you'll learn techniques while working as part of a team to design and complete stunning murals around the school. It’s a chance to leave your mark, brighten up shared spaces, and celebrate artistic expression in a bold and meaningful way.

School Parliament Drop-In
A weekly opportunity for Student MPs to speak to Mr Ashby, sharing thoughts, suggestions and ideas as we continue to value every voice. Scheduled full Student Parliament meetings will continue to take place throughout the academic year.

Summer Show
Hot off the back of April's incredible production of 'Into the Woods', our Year 10 drama students are putting on one last show. We can't wait to see it in full colour!

Set and Prop Design
Still want to get involved in the upcoming School Production? You can help with our set and prop design as we build momentum towards the live show in early March 2026.

An Inclusive Offering

Our aim is to provide enrichment activities as part of our extensive extra-curricular programme that complements our curriculum and fosters a love of education. Every member of staff will be running or supporting an activity, ensuring that we have a fully inclusive programme that offers something of interest for everyone who wishes to take part.
