Future Medics Meet the GP Behind Urgent Care

A big thank you to Dr Shamik Agashi, Acute and Urgent Treatment Centre GP, who visited Penrice on Friday last week to speak to our Future Medics students. Alongside Dr Agashi were Emily and Eleanor who are currently studying their final year of medicine at the University of Exeter Medical School.

Our Future Medics were full of intrigue and curiosity as they learnt about Dr Agashi’s field of medicine and asked plenty of questions to the two soon-to-be doctors in a Q&A session.

Mrs Stevenson, Future Pathways Lead, said:

“An inspiring and insightful session - Dr Agashi and the medical students offered exceptional guidance, real-world wisdom, and a glimpse into the future of medicine. We’re incredibly thankful for their time and generosity.”

Up next for our Future Medics is a talk from a Midwife from Treliske Hospital and a Senior Assistant Psychologist who works for the NHS, based within the provision service.
