Penrice Welcomes SCITT Trainees Penrice welcomes SCITT Trainees for their Second School Placement Penrice are excited to be hosting a new group of Peninsula SCITT Trainee Teachers for their Second School Placement after the Christmas break. The Peninsula SCITT trainees have now completed a full term of training made up of training days and time at their main school placements. When they return after the Christmas break they will complete a six week block at a second school placement, in order to gain experience in a contrasting school environment with new challenges and experiences. The trainees are placed in partner schools across Cornwall for Second School Placements and Penrice is pleased to be hosting 10 of the Peninsula SCITT cohort. The trainees – Camilla Soper (Drama), Alex Archer (English), Phil Dolbear (History), Sarah George (Art & Design), Kelli Goldsworthy (Design Technology), Samantha Hall (P.E), Grant Mackenzie (Geography), Mhairi Purves (English), James Thomas (Maths) and Sam Tomlinson (History) – are looking forward to spending time at Penrice and getting to know new classes and colleagues. After half a term at a second school, trainees will return to their main school placement where their mentors can see how they have developed over the block of time spent away. Mr Baker, Associate Principal at Penrice Acadamy, said: “We would like to thank all of our Trainees from our Scitt Programe for all their hard work at Penrice and in our partner schools this term. Their enthusiasm and affection for learning is rubbing off on our students and it’s fantastic and exciting to see both adults and students learning together every day. I would like to welcome our new cohort of Trainees to Penrice and wish them good luck for the next term.” (Mr Baker, Associate Principal) Pictured: Camilla Soper (Drama Trainee), Alex Archer (English Trainee) and Phil Dolbear (History Trainee) Read more about SCITT here.
