Ten Tors 2018 On Friday 11th May, Penrice students once again represented their school and their county at the annual Ten Tors event on Dartmoor. In the 45 Mile category, our Year 11 students set a new landmark with our first full team of six completing the event. Mr de Villiers, Penrice Expeditions Supervisor, said: “It has been a very rewarding season on the Ten Tors programme this year. All those who joined the programme and pushed their limits to complete any of the challenging training walks can be proud of their achievements.” “Our 35 Mile teams also both put in a strong performance. For our A team, who wanted to put in a competitive time, coming home first in their group and before 11am was a very good result. However, just completing the event itself is a commendable achievement and we are equally thrilled that all of our B team members have been able to rise to the challenge and meet this goal.” “Congratulations to all students that took part in Ten Tors this year. We are very proud of our teams for the way they have represented us, with all three teams demonstrating capability and commitment in completing their routes.” “With regards the event itself, it has been a pleasure to see newcomers join our teams and succeed, and our returning students grow and flourish.” We look forward to next year’s programme and hope you will join us.
