New Friendships Made at Year 7 Summer Academy

The 2023 Penrice Summer Academy finished on Thursday last week with a celebration of three fun-packed days!

Our new Year 7 students enjoyed learning new survival skills, solved mysteries using CSI Science and found out how to save lives during volcanic eruptions. They also made hedgehog bread, enjoyed archery and programmed robots to sing and dance!

Mr Hammersley, Assistant Headteacher, explained:

The highlight of the week was to see how much fun they had, and how they adapted and grew in confidence over the week.

On day one, Mr Darbourne, Head of Year 7, challenged students to make the most of new opportunities and they certainly took this on board. They learned new skills, made new friends and learned that new situations are not scary, but create opportunities to have fun and discover more things about themselves! As true Penrice students, they got stuck in and reaped the rewards.

They are now ready to face a new school and a new term with confidence. Congratulations to all who took part in a brilliant week.
