Student Working Party: Radicalisation

On Friday 29th January we welcomed Steve Double, local MP for St Austell and Newquay, to speak with some of our students about how Awareness of Radicalisation is being taught in schools.

The Working Party of students met in The Core to discuss the upcoming tutor activity which has been developed as part of the PHSE curriculum.

Mrs Stevens explains: “Due to recent events it has become more apparent that our duty is to prevent future radicalisation of our young people and therefore knowledge is power. We want to develop positive attitudes where children can express themselves without the use of violence.”

“A great question and answer session was had on Friday, with future working parties planned. A big thank you to Steve Double for his time and commitment to Penrice.”
