Sports Report – Week Beginning Monday 20 September

An excellent week of Sports Fixtures with Penrice students participating in Rugby, Netball and Hockey matches away at Truro School. There were boys playing Rugby in Year 7, 8 and 9. We also had girls playing Hockey in Years 7 and 8, plus students in Year 9, 10 and 11 playing Netball.

The Year 8 Boys was the Rugby game of the day which ended in a thrilling draw. There were also some excellent performances in the Hockey, with the Year 7 and Year 8 Hockey girls playing their first games for Penrice, and in the Netball, where there were four teams including the two Under 14 and two Under 16 teams. The best game was one of the Under 16 teams who lost by just a single point.

Next week, our sports players are making the short trip to Brannel for our next set of fixtures. We have Rugby matches and Netball matches played across various year groups. Students will be leaving Penrice at 2:55pm and returning at 5pm. Training for all of the sports clubs continues as usual next week.

We look forward to introducing more prospective parents to Sports and PE at Penrice at the school open evening on Tuesday.
Sports Players of the Week

Girls: Poppy (Year 11) – Brilliant work rate and a strong, solid performance from a really competitive game at centre.
