Safer Internet Day 2016

Tuesday 8th February this week was Safer Internet Day and Year 7 spent their assembly and tutor times finding out all about this year’s theme – Play your part for a better internet!

A recent study has found that, despite the legal age for Instagram and Facebook being 13, over 80% of young people aged between 10 and 12 have an account on one or more social networks. This means that it is even more important that Year 7 learn all about how they can help to make the Internet a better place for everyone.

Mrs Cromey, Head of Year 7, said: “We are really happy to support this national campaign. It was amazing to see how many Year 7s use the Internet in such a wide variety of ways. Year 7 have so many fantastic ideas about how we can help to make using the Internet a safe and positive experience”
