Online Safety – Guidance for Parents and Carers

The online world is posing an ever-increasing risk to children.  It is important that schools, parents and carers work together to take an active role in teaching children about online dangers and how to act safely when using the internet.

We are therefore delighted to announce Penrice Academy are committed to protecting our pupils online and we are a National Online Safety certified school.

National Online Safety deliver interactive workshops and webinars for all our parents & carers.


There are many downloadable guides for parents and carers to access and every Wednesday a guide is featured in their #wakeupwednesday series.  Links to the guide are also advertised on their Twitter and Facebook sites on Wednesdays.



Parents can also look at webinars and courses to be  taken at your own convenience and covers:

  • Information about online dangers and the newest platforms
  • What online risks to look out for and how to protect your child

Please find below the URL you need to visit to register your account.

Please make sure you select ‘Parent’ from the option on the screen that will be displayed as below after you have completed your basic registration details. If this step is not followed, then your registration options will be limited.



Once you have registered and selected the Parent option,   you will see the screen below and from here you will be able to access the NOS Online Safety Courses for Parents and  Carers by clicking on the drop down list from the NOS Courses heading at the top right hand side of the page.








From this page you can also access other National Online Safety’s Resources (which includes 50+ online platform guides on the latest social media channels and games). This facility aims to help empower parents with the knowledge to protect their children from the dangers of the internet.
