Penrice Mini Medics At Penrice Academy we offer our Year 7s the chance to develop basic skills in First Aid and Defibrillation. What is Mini Medics? Mini Medics is educational and practical It provides students with potentially life-saving skills and information The course avoids use of confusing terminologies Leaders respect every child’s ability It instils the importance of helping someone who is poorly or injured Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: • What is First Aid? • Defibrillation • First Aid kits • Recovery position • Choking • Resuscitation (CPR) • DR ABC • Wounds and bleeding • Asthma • Shock • Safety • Communication and contacting the emergency services Assessment This is a non-regulated qualification and attendance is all that is required.
