Year 6 Families Enjoy Mandarin Taster Lesson A big thank you to all Year 6 families who attended a Mandarin Taster Lesson this week. The Taster Lessons were available across three afternoons, Monday to Wednesday. Each lesson included learning the 4 different Mandarin tones (level, rising, fall/rise, falling), learning how to count to 10, how to write numbers in Mandarin and, finally, chopstick mathematics which involved solving sums in Mandarin using the numbers they had learnt. The full application process for our Mandarin Excellence Programme opens on Friday 16 June 2023. All pupils joining Penrice in Year 7 in September 2023 are invited to apply to form a new 25-strong cohort. Year 6 parents will be informed via email tomorrow when this process begins.
