Thank you all for your support and generosity, We know that these funds will go a long way to supporting our Ghanaian sponsor school, making a positive impact on the lives of so many whilst also developing our students’ character through such an unforgettable overseas experience. Mr Sullivan Ghana Trip Coordinator In just a few weeks’ time, a group of students from Penrice Academy will be embarking on a trip to Ghana to complete voluntary work at a school in the Volta Region of Ghana. Over recent months, staff, students, parents and local businesses have supported a range of fundraising activities to raise money for equipment and stationery for the Ghana school and to support the students going on the trip. A number of parents have also donated some much needed items for the children at the school in Ghana; items which will be very well received when our students arrive at the school in July. The fundraising activities that have taken place over recent months have included a cake sale, a non-uniform day, fundraising gym challenges, a staff raffle, an Easter egg raffle and some very generous donations from local businesses. Staff have also supported our fundraising efforts with Mrs Malcolm’s tomato plants and Mrs Hatch’s hand-crafted cards proving popular purchases with our staff. A special mention must also go to Mrs Skyba who has played a pivotal role in our fundraising efforts – particular the Easter events which raised £2,335.48 alone. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our students, parents and the wider community for all of your support with our fundraising.
