CEW Residential Trips 2022

We are delighted to announce that we will be running a variety of UK residential trips during the next Curriculum Enrichment Week (CEW) in July 2022. This page contains all of the trips on offer, including key highlights to look forward to and essential information.



Please note that your child does not have to choose one of these residential trips for CEW 2022 as there will be a range of locally based activities on offer, which they will be able to choose from in the Spring Term.

History Trip to Bristol


Capacity: 40+ students

Love History, you’ll love History Trip. We’re off to Bristol to learn about the history of slavery and to visit the SS Great Britain before trips to Roman Bath and Longleat Safari Park.

The Great British Golf Getaway


Capacity: 20-30 students
Teachers: Mr Golding, Ms Baker, Mr D Johnson
Cost: Approximately £390 (exact amount to be confirmed)

Experience 4 days of golf on Britain’s largest golf site. A short 2 hour coach trip to Devon, this residential includes 4 rounds of golf on a choice of 5 beautiful golf courses. All you need is your own clubs!

Other activities included in this trip include pedal karts, 3 swimming pools (with slides), ten pin bowling and 2 game zones including dance machines, pool tables air hockey and more! All meals are included, and all of the rooms are en-suite and have TV’s!

Recommended for current golfers only, although there will be Golf Penrice Plus throughout the Summer term, if beginners want to take part in this week too!

A Scilly Camping Week

Setting sail to the magical Isles of Scilly, the week will be packed with action, adventure but also plenty of time to chill and relax in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Surrounded by crystal clear seas, empty beaches of white sands and amazing wildlife, you’ll be camping under the stars and making memories.

From wildlife cruises, to sailing adventures this week will guarantee you plenty of ‘Scilly-ness’ as a perfect way to end the school year.

Arts Trip to London


Capacity: 30 students

Come and join us in the City of Arts and Culture in an action packed week full of performing, creating and experiencing.

We will be absorbing as much creativity as we can in the five days, from street performers to world class theatres, Van Gogh to Banksy, and indulging in the wide range of cultural cuisine London that has to offer. We will participate in workshops in Drama, Art and Music and be wowed and charmed by the extraordinary sights and sounds of the Big Smoke.

Trip highlights include:

  • Watching two West End Shows
  • A hands-on musical theatre workshop with West End professionals
  • An immersive paint related workshop at the National Gallery
  • Guided tours of the Royal Albert Hall, Tate Modern Gallery and National Theatre
  • An experience of the art and craft of the world-famous street performers at Covent Garden
  • Other, yet to be confirmed, cultural experiences including tasting a wide range of London cuisine!


Around the World in 5 Days (London)

An exciting opportunity to explore all that London has to offer! Around the World in 5 days gives you the opportunity to experience first-hand an exciting selection of music, food, dance, culture and language from around the world – all without boarding a plane!

Over the course of 5 days, we will travel to London, dive into China Town, take in the sites of London, experience African workshops, French cinematography, learn how to dance Flamenco, improve our language skills and enjoy cuisines from across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Living London Life


Capacity: 30 students

A fantastic opportunity to experience the sights of London. Students will quiz an MP in the depths of Parliament; travel in time at the Globe Theatre; fly over and travel along the Thames; be dazzled in a theatre; catch a train to Harry Potter world; experience a day in the life of a Guardian reporter; shop till they drop and much much more.

The cost of the trip includes the train to London, tube tickets for the week, accommodation and breakfast in the heart of London, packed lunches whilst out and about and evening meals at restaurants such as Planet Hollywood and Pizza Express.

A Thistle Stop Tour of Edinburgh

If you fancy immersing yourself in a capital city steeped in history and culture and want to experience the hustle and bustle of living in a capital city then this is your trip. From day one you will be involved in an adventure of a life time, castles, secret cities aeroplanes and trams with this all-action “thistle stop tour of Edinburgh”.

Trip highlights include:

  • Open top bus tour of the city.
  • Visit and guided tour of Edinburgh Castle
  • Beach Evening – a night at Portobello beach enjoying American style pizza slices and traditional arcade games.
  • The Old Town tour to include Victoria Street, The Grass Market, Greyfriars Kirk Yard and Greyfriars Bobby and The Elephant House – The birth place of Harry Potter.


Equestrian Week (Chyverton Park)


Capacity: 20 students
Teachers: Miss Skelton + x2 TBC

Equestrian Camp. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner for all students for the week. Bedding, hayledge and stabling for the horses all week. As well as 3-4 days of instruction from qualified instructors. This will be a mixture of flatwork, show jumping and cross country. Owning your own horse and transport will be essential.
