Character Reports To support each student’s personal development and character, we have introduced a new way of reporting to parents. We believe that the development of Character is central to a child’s education – specifically moral, civic, performance and intellectual virtues. A Response to Parent Feedback In the March 2022 Parent Voice survey, parents told us they would like to receive more regular feedback on how their child is getting on at Penrice. Our unique Character Reports aim to provide parents with a breadth of information as to how their child is engaging in their schooling and demonstrating the core values of our school; Pride, Respect and Success. What is Shown in Character Reports? These reports are issued after every half-term, giving a summary of key aspects of a child’s education including: • Attendance and Punctuality • Merits and Behaviour – Merits are awarded to students who demonstrate Moral, Civic and Performance Virtues. • Engagement with Homework – Students to demonstrate Intellectual and Performance Virtues through completing their homework regularly. • Ready to Learn Scores – Each lesson students are scored on their readiness to learn which encompasses a range of performance and intellectual virtues. • Engagement in Enrichment – Through our enrichment programme, students can demonstrate a breadth of Moral, Civic and Performance Virtues.
