Curriculum Enrichment Week 2022 – Blog Final Updates Isles of Scilly – Final Two Days Report written by Mr Banfield: Friday brought us outstanding weather for the last group to go to Penninis Head to try coasteering, it was quite a sight to see our students taking the plunge (literally) and overcoming their fears to jump off the rocks. Whilst this was taking place, on the other side of the island some well crafted sand sculptures were being created and more ice-creams being consumed! In the afternoon we headed off on the Seahorse to the Western Isles where puffins, a nesting pair of peregrine falcons, a huge range of seabirds and the first sunfish of the year were spotted. In the evening, both camps held their award ceremonies where medals and certificates were given out for almost anything you could imagine! Saturday was a bit overcast and drizzly which summed up the mood on both camps – we knew the end was in sight. Camps cleared, rubbish sorted and we headed into town for some final souvenir shopping before boarding the Scillonian for a rather bumpy cruise back. So there we have it, the end of our first Scilly Camping week. As always, our students were an absolute credit to Penrice, we hope memories and friendships were made that last a lifetime. I would also like to publicly say a huge thank you to the team of Staff who supported this trip, without you it would never have been as amazing as it was!
