Year 9 Progress Evening

This event will take place between 3:30pm and 6:30pm on 26/03/2026

Year 9 Progress and Options Evening

Thursday 26 March 2026: 3.30pm – 6.30pm

Our Year 9 Progress and Options Evening will take place on Thursday 26 March.

This year we are running a joint Progress and Options Evening for Year 9. This will enable parents and carers to discuss current progress with subject teachers whilst also learning more about the GCSE courses that students will begin studying in Key Stage 4.

Core subjects that your child will continue to study beyond Key Stage 3 will require booked appointments. These subjects are English, Maths, Science, MFL, Geography and History.

Appointments will be five minutes per teacher. Should you require a follow up after your appointments, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant member of staff.

The booking system will open at 6.00pm on Thursday 19 March and will close at 12 noon on Thursday 26 March.

To book appointments, please follow the instructions on the attached sheet and use our online booking system. If you have any issues using the system, please contact our IT team. If you do not have online access, you can book appointments by telephoning Reception on 01726 72163.

All other subjects will have dedicated areas where students and parents/carers can speak with subject staff, ask questions and find out more about the courses on offer before making their final choices.  A map will be provided on the evening so that you are fully informed of where subjects areas will be based.

Following this event, the Year 9 Options Form will open on Friday 27 March and must be completed by Thursday 2 April. Attending the evening will help ensure that both students and parents/carers feel confident and well informed when making these important decisions.

We strongly encourage students to attend with their parents or carers so that they can be fully involved in discussions about their progress and their future subjects.

To ensure the evening runs smoothly, all parents and carers should enter through the canteen where your child’s report, site map and appointment slips will be available. Staff will be on hand throughout the evening if you require any assistance.

Refreshments will also be available from the canteen.

We look forward to welcoming you to this important event as Year 9 students begin the exciting transition from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4.
