Be Strong Online

On Thursday 28th of June 2018 we held a training day which saw a number of students become Be Strong Online Ambassadors, helping to develop an initiative to promote positive online behaviour and build digital resilience.

Will from the Media Team reports.

Be Strong Online is a digital resilience programme for young people from The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Campaign.

Students from a number of schools in Cornwall – Falmouth, Bodmin, Newquay Thretheras, Helston, Redruth and Penrice came to the Academy to have a training day to teach them how to be Be Strong Online Ambassadors.

Mrs Taylor explains:

“Today is a Brilliant day! It’s all about bringing together six secondary schools to experience excellent training to address a serious issue – online safety in today’s highly digitalised society.”

She added: “The training is educating and empowering our young people. It is both developing awareness of online safety and enhancing essential skills like teamwork, problem solving and public speaking.”

“This training will give us the opportunity to develop a peer to peer educational and support network.”

A big thank you to all the students who joined us.
