Year 9 Enjoy Apprenticeships Field Trip A big thank you to St Austell Brewery for talking to a large group of our Year 9 students on Wednesday 7th February as part of National Apprenticeships Week. The brewery showcased the career paths they offer via various ‘booths’ within the visitor centre. Our students learnt about all aspects of the business including production, marketing, accountancy, hospitality and so much more. Being one of St Austell’s largest employers, we felt that it was important to show Penrice students a career pathway that would enable them to continue to learn locally whilst beginning to earn money. View from the Careers Lead Mr Hammersley Careers Lead at Penrice Academy It is crucial that our students are able to meet and visit a range of employers and education providers throughout their time at Penrice in order to develop aspirations for their future, and start thinking about what they will do with their education. Today gave students a great start to that goal! Our thanks to the St Austell Team who put on such an amazing event that left Year 9 buzzing about what they want when they get a ‘Proper Job’!
