Academy Council The Academy Council is made up of student representatives from each year group, led by our Senior Prefect Team. The council gives students a real voice in decision making and progress around the school. Their previous projects include extensive fundraising initiatives and designing our new canteen, The Core and two gardens in school. Every year the team are tasked with organising fundraising for local and international charities and thinking about how they can work for both the school community, and the local community of St Austell. The supported charity changes each year and the school’s fundraising efforts have hit the headlines on numerous occasions. One such highlight was in 2017 when the council planned and implemented an international project – #Penrice3580 – raising over £17000 for children in Sierra Leone. More recently the school has supported Cornwall Hospice and Cornwall’s Invictus Trust The 2021-2022 Academy Council Dylan (7RW), Aoife (7SA), Chloe (8JH), Isaac (8LP), Emily (9LM), Jack (9GS), Jethro (10JK), Emily (10MM), Emily (11EB), Corben (11HR), Freya (Head Girl), Jake (Head Boy).
