Action for Children – Young Carers discuss a Digital App to Monitor Mental Health

On Tuesday 23rd January, Kate Stulberg, a Digital Product Manager at Action for Children in London, visited a group of Penrice Young Carers to discuss plans to set up a mobile phone App to monitor young people’s mental health.

Kate, along with Liz Digweed and Kevin Downing from Kernow Young Carers, met with 10 Young Carers from Years 7 to 10.

Mrs Gouldsmith explains: “The App would be aimed at the 10 – 13 age group and would enable Young Carers to understand their feelings, so that areas of concern can be identified quickly. It would also provide access to useful information, to help them through difficult times.”

Kate has been meeting with students all over Britain and has visited Cardiff and Belfast in her research.

Mrs Gouldsmith said: “Kate was very impressed with the digital knowledge of our Young Carers and will keep them posted on her research. It is hoped the App will be available this summer!”
