Year 8 GO 4 IT Day 2017

On Tuesday 10th January 2017, Penrice Academy held its annual Year 8 GO 4 IT Day, which saw the entirety of Year 8 delving into the world of work at school.

Students spent the day making contacts and hearing from industry experts on what it’s like to work in various fields – from catering at the Eden Project to caring for animals with Penmellyn Vets.

Mrs Selley, IAG/Work Experience Lead, said: “The GO 4 IT Event allowed our Year 8 students the opportunity to explore two occupational areas and hopefully assist them with their Options choices this term. We have had some brilliant feedback from students, parents and businesses alike – well done to our Year 8s for really embracing this opportunity.”

Thank you to the local companies and colleges for their support with this great event; Bodmin Sixth Form College, Coodes Solicitors, Cornwall College St Austell, Devon and Cornwall Police, Duchy College, Eden Project, Peninsula SCITT, Penmellyn Vets, Polymermedics, Premier Inn, Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust, St Austell Brewery, Tesco, TSB and 3D Kernow.
