Workshop with the Royal Marines

On Wednesday 4th May, selected students from Years 9 and 10 received a visit from the Royal Marines.

Miss Seberry explains: “The students behaved amazingly throughout all of the sessions and you could see it was of huge benefit to them all. Those who would usually lack confidence were fully involved and students channelled their energy into working as a team and supporting the rest of the group through some pretty tough activities!”

Students had a chance to ask the Marines questions and gain an insight into a typical day as a Marine, as well as the training needed to be accepted. After break, the Marines set up a series of tough team building activities which saw students working in teams to make a sling from rope and carrying each other through the hall.

Miss Seberry continued: “This opportunity meant that The Pegasus Award students were able to tick off more targets and some completing their Bronze Award. A big thank you to Mrs Selley for organising the day!”
