Star Students: Penrice Awards

On Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th May we held our Awards Evenings for students who are excelling in their subjects and in school life at Penrice.

Awards were given across all subjects from English and Maths to Art and Technology, were introduced by members of staff and were handed out by our special guests – former Head Students Billie Powell and Toby Girdler and Chair of Governors Elise Alma. Awards were also presented by Heads of Year and by Mr Baker, for outstanding contribution to the school community.

Billie and Toby told Years 7 and 8: “These years are so important for finding your feet and finding out what you enjoy and are good at. It’s brilliant to see so many of you already achieving and making the most of these years at school – they will absolutely fly by!”

Mr Barnett said of the Awards for Years 9 and 10: “Tonight is among some of the most special events we have at Penrice. These Awards are an opportunity to reward and properly recognise the hard work, effort and achievement of our students. Many of the winners are modest about what they do at school and are often the last to blow their own trumpet – so we’re doing it for them.”

Big thank you to all the teachers and staff who helped put both evenings together, to Billie and Toby for being part of it and to parents for coming along.
