SCITT Trainees in Charlestown

Last Thursday 17th March our Secondary SCITT Trainees headed to Charlestown to simulate a school trip, to help them gain experience of leading large groups on trips outside of the school environment.

The Trainees were tasked with planning everything from Risk Assessments, EV Forms and road safety on the way to considering behaviour, leading group challenges around Charlestown and ensuring all students arrive there and back safely.

There was also a team building aspect to the challenges, which included building cairns using stones on the beach, calculating the depth of the Harbour and creating a poster that advertises the village to potential tourists using their iPads.
