Primary Maths Olympics

On Thursday 17th March, Penrice Academy hosted it’s annual Year 6 Maths Olympics Day.

Th day saw local Primary Schools compete in an all-day Maths event for gifted and talented Year 6 students, including a range of activities not only testing the students’ mathematical skills but also their ability to work as a team.

Mrs Johns, Maths Teacher, said: “The day was a real success – not only were the Year 6 students amazing and worked really hard but the Year 10 helpers were fantastic too.  They assisted throughout the day and showed a high level of professionalism; a real credit to Penrice!”

“This year was dominated by Charlestown, achieving 1st and 2nd place!  We look forward to hosting next year and seeing if Charlestown can maintain their title.”
