Primary Dodgeball Festival

On Tuesday 10th November Team PE hosted a Primary Dodgeball Festival, for KS2 children from 7 local primary schools.

Students from Charlestown, St Mewan, Biscovey, Sandy Hill, Bugle, Lostwithiel and Mevagissey spent the morning in the Sports Hall for the festival, which saw skills in speed, agility and teamwork being tested.

Miss Hocking, PE Teacher at Penrice, said: “It was a great morning! A brilliant atmosphere full of enthused students and the feedback was very positive, with all schools reporting that their students had had a great time. All of the Year 9 leaders worked hard and did a great job of leading the day.”

7th – Mevagissey

8th – Charlestown

This was the first time this festival, in partnership with Hearty Lives, has been held at Penrice Academy. Hearty Lives is an initiative to promote healthy active lifestyles in children and is aimed at those who don’t always get the opportunity to take part in team sports such as netball and football.
