Pirate FM Christmas Toy Appeal

We are proud to be supporting Pirate FM’s Christmas Toy Appeal this year. Penrice Academy will be one of a number of official drop-off points in Cornwall.

Can you help raise a smile for some of Cornwall’s most vulnerable and poorly children?

Last year people in the Duchy generously donated thousands of toys for Pirate FM’s Christmas Toy Appeal, and this year Pirate are looking to build on this success. They are asking communities in Cornwall to support children who use Cornwall Refuge Trust and Ellie’s Haven.

Ellie’s Haven gives families with poorly children the chance to have a holiday.

Nigel Libby set up the charity in Looe after losing his daughter, Ellie, just months before her 7th birthday. He told Pirate FM: “Some families may be on a low income and not have that money to buy children any gifts so you can only imagine how grateful that family is going to be for having that gift and how much that child’s eyes are going to open up when they have that present.

“When you get to a certain age, maybe it’s when you become a parent, you don’t expect gifts. It’s a time that kids love and it’s just great that we can be part of something that makes children happy and makes them forget things, if just for a short while”.
