Penrice Remembrance Poppies

With this year’s Remembrance Day fast approaching, Mrs Brittain has brought in 100 knitted poppies in support of the international cause.

Mrs Brittain explains: “My husband’s grandma has knitted poppies to raise money for the British Legion Poppy Appeal and asked if Penrice could help! We encourage our students to wear a poppy on Poppy Day and tutors show a presentation during registration to remind the students of what the day is all about.”

“We hope that the knitted poppies catch people’s attention and help us raise a good amount of money again this year, as in previous years.”

The poppies will be on sale in Reception alongside paper poppies, for students and staff to have a choice of the poppy they wear.

There are also plans for our annual Memorial Service to take place once again. Read about last year’s service here and watch out for more on this year’s event next week.
