Penrice Orchestra at HFC

On Friday 20th May, the Penrice Orchestra performed at Hall For Cornwall as part of the Hub Sounds concert.

This event was organised by The Cornwall Music Education Hub and is a showcase for the very best school’s music talent from across Cornwall. Around 35 orchestral musicians from Penrice performed in the concert which was received with rapturous applause. Their performance included Habanera and Toreador’s Song by Bizet and featured the trumpet and cornet talents of Lia Teague and Joshua Smith.

Mr Jones, who conducted the orchestra, said: “Once again I’m astounded at the skill of our musicians. This was a very big gig and certainly the most important concert of our academic year so far and I was impressed by the focus and confident of the orchestra. The Hall For Cornwall crew were very impressed with the professionalism of the orchestra and I was extremely proud to be with them on stage. It was a great performance!”

You can see the orchestra perform again this week at The Keay Theatre on Thursday 26th May 7pm.
