Penrice Academy Awards Evenings

On Monday and Tuesday this week, we presented Awards to Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students, nominated by their teachers for their hard in specific subjects during their time at Penrice.

A new addition to the Penrice calendar, the evenings saw students in each Year recognised for their efforts in subjects ranging from sport and art to science and maths, as well as awards for Inclusion and the ‘Head of Year Award’. It was also the first opportunity for the newly appointed Head Students to experience speaking at a school event.

Jack Lawther, Head Boy, said: “It’s brilliant to see you all doing so well and there are a lot of proud parents out there.”

Mr Parker spoke of Penrice being the perfect environment to succeed; with the right people around you as inspiration, a culture of belief and a record and tradition of success: “As you get older the years go by in a flash and the ‘carousel’ spins ever faster. Now is the time to be recognised for your efforts like this -you’ve all done so well, let’s see just how far you can get.”

“We urged them to dream and they respond with determination” (Mr Wood, Head of Year 10)
