History Workshops

On Tuesday 17th March, Dr Catriona Pennell, Senior Lecturer at University of Exeter, led the second round of workshops with Year 10 historians looking into the First World War.

Catriona dedicates her time to researching the First World War and has a particular interest in how it’s taught in secondary school, with the aim to dispel some popular myths about life in the trenches. She has a passion for bringing up to date research into the classroom.

The day saw Catriona and six undergraduates working with students on a variety of tasks, from discussing the shape of the world in 1914 to life in the trenches.

The university students who ran the workshops will now be assessed on how well they communicated the information to Penrice Students.
