Extra Transition Day 2017 On Tuesday 8th June we began the Transition season for this year, inviting some very excited Year 6 students from local schools, who are joining us in September, to spend the day with us. Mrs Macdonald and Ms Libby explained: ” The transition to Secondary School can prove to be an anxious time for some students and it’s important to recognize this. Therefore we do everything we can to make that transition a positive experience for all. Extra Transition Day is one we look forward to every year!” The full day is in addition to July’s Welcome Days, and sees a number of primary students working with staff and Prefects through some team building activities. The students’ spirits weren’t dampened by the constant rain this year and adapted perfectly to the indoors activities – including working in teams through a blindfolded exercise, exploring the school on a Treasure Hunt and making Goblin faces out of clay in Art. Mr Matthews said: “I was really impressed with all the Year 6s I worked with today; they worked really well together and were so polite and friendly. Look forward to seeing them again!” Big thank you to our team of Prefects – Anthony, Ben, Sam, Max, Harrison, Owen, Daisy, Bella, Evie, Megan, Jodie and Elizabeth who were a fantastic help on what was one of their first responsibilities.
