Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra

On Thursday 30th March, Penrice Academy welcomed the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra string quintet, Resonate Strings, for a morning of workshops.

All our of string players and students from The Roseland and Charlestown School took part in the workshops, which featured violins, violas, cellos and double bass.

Mrs Karen Frost, CMST Strings Teacher, said: “I’m so proud of our fantastic string players. We all work so hard and to have professional orchestral musicians from the BSO hear us play and say what a wonderful sound we make is a great reward for all our hard work.”

The BSO was also treated to a violin solo from Jake and a stunning performance on the cello by Joe, both from Year 10.

Mr Jones said: “When Jake played his violin solo it was breathtaking, the sound he made just resonated and filled the room. I think it’s fair to say that the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra were left speechless by our musicians.”

You can hear snippets from the workshops below.
