Bake Sale for Parkinson’s UK

Congratulations to 10PW, who raised £95.25 during a bake sale in aid of Parkinson’s UK this week!

Lucy Hamley from 10PW, who led organisation of the annual sale, said: “I chose the charity as my granddad had Parkinson’s, so it’s a cause close to my heart.” The event also forms part of the Volunteering Section of Lucy’s Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Several members of 10PW brought in cakes, including Christina Camborne Paynter, who baked a large blue gateau to raffle. The theme for the cakes was blue – as the chosen charity’s logo is blue and Mrs Beverley White, Assistant Head of Year 10, also donated a large elaborately decorated cup cake and twelve smaller cupcakes which she had professionally made.  These were also raffled.

The sale and raffle were held in the hall and was run by a very willing team of helpers from 10PW.  The cakes sold out very quickly – in about 15 minutes – and the raffle was very popular with staff and students!
