£3474.67 for Cancer Research

In December 2015, the Penrice Academy Community took to the field on a misty Wednesday to raise money for Cancer Research through Race for Life.

Mr Parker said of the event: “It is an amazing achievement for a group of young people and is a testament to their dedication and hard work – and ambition. Running a race in the last days of December, in the mist and rain with such enthusiasm says more than anything else about the spirit of the school. We are lucky to have some fantastic young people in our school.”

In July 2016 we received our official certificate from Cancer Research with our official total raised – £3474.67!

The letter reads:

“You did it! Thank you so much for your fundraising efforts this year by hosting your own Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK. Your students were bold and brave. They laced up their trainers, they smeared on the war paint and they united to help take cancer down. Thank you to your student warriors – you are all incredible.”

Well done everyone who took part. See pictures from the day in our gallery.
